Aimi made her debut as seiyū in 2011 after winning an audition for an anime adaptation of the media franchise Tantei Opera Milky Holmes . In the same year she released her first single as a musician.
Aimi Terakawa was born on December 25, 1991 in Hyogo Prefecture . In her childhood her desire was to work as a singer in adulthood . In high school she taught herself to play the guitar and was active in a band. Although she wanted to become a singer, her interest in voice acting was sparked by the anime series Macross Frontier . She said the series impressed her with how the series managed to combine music and animation in its story. Hoping to become a professional singer, Aimi took part in several singing competitions, including the Animax Anison Grand Prix in 2009. She also played in various live houses , such as a steakhouse in Kobe .
Her professional career finally began in 2011 after she won a casting for the multimedia project Tantei Opera Milky Holmes . So Aimi gave the character Kazumi Tokiwa her voice. Together with Seiyū colleague Ayasa Itō , she forms the singing duo Feathers, which also belongs to the franchise. With the release of her first single Tenshi no Clover that same year, Terakawa took her stage name Aimi. Tenshi no Clover was featured in the opening credits of the anime series Rotte no Omocha! utilized. Between 2011 and 2013 four more singles were released that were used in various anime: LIVE for LIFE in Ben-To , We're the Stars in Fairy Tail , Link in Oda Nobuna no Yabō and Unmei no Ori in The Sewering Crime Edge . Her debut album Love was released in November 2013.
