Raise A Suilen ( spelling RAISE A SUILEN ) is a fictional rock band from the BanG-Dream! -Universe.

history

RAISE A SUILEN originally acted as a backing band for the BanG-Dream! -Franchise-owned groups whose members could not play instruments. So they took over the instruments for a concert by the groups Afterglow , Hello, Happy World! and Pastel * Palettes . On the second day of this concert it was announced that the group under the name The Third (Beta) would become the third live band of the project after Poppin'Party and Roselia . In an interview that Bushiroad founder Takaaki Kidani conducted with Real Sounds in 2018, he stated that he did not want to hire a band with male members for women-related projects, which led to the founding of this group. With the founding of this group, Kidani had the idea of ​​a female version of One Ok Rock in the back of his mind and therefore gave the group more freedom than with the other two groups Poppin'Party and Roselia.

The group gave their first concert under the project name The Third together with Poppin'Party and Roselia. The first line-up consisted of singer Raychell that also E-Bass plays the keyboard player Reo Kurachi , the drummer Natsume and Sae Ōtsuka of Poppin'Party as a guest - guitarist . Her current guitarist Riko Kohara was announced after the release of her debut single RIOT . This was released on December 12, 2018 together with the singles Kizuna Music ♪ by Poppin'Party and Brave Jewel by Roselia. RIOT reached sixth place in Oricon's Japanese single charts .

On May 12, 2018, The Third was the inaugural band of the BanG Dream! 5th ☆ Live that took place in the Makuhari Messe . On July 17th, the band played a concert at Akasaka Blitz . As part of this performance, Risa Tsumugi was accepted into the group as a DJ and producer . On this day the group was given its current name, RAISE A SUILEN . In November 2018, the band played their first concert outside of Japan at CharaExpo in Anaheim , California . As part of the BanG Dream! 6th ☆ Live , which will have its first official concert under its current name and with its current line-up on December 7, 2018 at Ryogoku Kokugikan .

On February 20, 2019, the second single of the group was released with Declaration of ×ewhere, along with six other single releases by the other groups in the franchise. Two days later, RAISE A SUILEN played at the Nippon Budōkan . The group was at its Genesis -Auftritt of Miku Ito , Ami Maeshima , Sachika Misawa , Suzuko Mimori and Argonavis the offshoot Argonavis from BanG Dream! supported. On June 19, 2019, Invincible Fighter released the third single, the tracks of which were used as the theme music for the anime adaptation Cardfight !! Vanguard: High School Arc Cont was used. In 2020, the group with Sacred World should also interpret the song in the opening credits to the anime series Assault Lily Bouquet .

The band performed their first independent concert, independent of the franchise, on March 13-14. July 2019 at the World Memorial Hall , with Itō, Maeshima and Ōtsuka having guest appearances. Over the course of the year, the group would play more concerts, including the debut live concert of the Bushiroad franchise D4DJ , the Animelo Summer Live , the Aso Rock Festival, the Mag Rock Festival and the Animax Music 2019 in Kobe . On November 30th and December 1st, 2019 RAISE A SUILEN played a joint concert with Roselia under the title Rausch und / and Craziness in the Makuhari Messe; A second concert under this name took place at the beginning of February 2020 in the Ecopa Arena . The last concert of 2019 took place on December 29th at Line Cube Shibuya .

On January 22nd, 2020, RAISE A SUILEN released the fourth single, Drive Us Crazy, and immediately rose to number five in the Japanese charts. Since April 2020, Tsumugi and Kurachi have been moderating the variety show Radio RIOT. Their debut album ERA was announced for August 19, 2020.

On the last day of their three-day live streaming event on YouTube in June 2020, the group announced their new single Reigning , specially made for the stage play We are RAISE A SUILEN - BanG Dream! The Stage was written. The piece was originally supposed to be performed between July 15 and 19, 2020, but the dates have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan and should initially be made up at a later date. In the meantime it has been announced that the stage play will take place as planned from 15-19. July will take place in camera and will be shown as a stream on the Internet.

On August 22nd and 23rd, 2020, RAISE A SUILEN performed two concerts as part of the three-day live event The Depths and Special Live ~ Summerly Tone ♪ ~ , which was held on the grounds of the Fuji-Q Highland Conifer Forest. It was announced that the Rausch / Craziness concert with Roselia would receive a second edition and that an online event under the title Rausch and / and Craziness -interlude- will be held in December 2020 .

  • Raychell (Rei "Layer" Wakana, vocals , e-bass , since 2018): Before starting the BanG dream! -Franchise Raychell had no experience in voice acting . Between 2010 and 2013 she was active as a solo musician under the name "Lay". In 2017 she sang the credits for the anime TV series Cardfight !! Vanguard G: NEXT . Kidani, the founder of Bushiroad and creator of BanG Dream! came up to her and asked if she was interested in a backing band for this franchise. She, Natsume and Sae Ōtsuka were all under contract with the talent agency Ace Crew Entertainment before starting the project .
  • Riko Kohara (Rokka "Lock" Asahi, electric guitar , since 2018): Riko Kohara joined the group for their The Third (Beta) 1st Live . She only learned to play the electric guitar at the age of 18 and attended a music school . Kohara was a member of the fictional band The Sketchbook from the anime television series Sket Dance , which existed from 2011 to 2015.
  • Natsume (Masuki “Masking” Satō, drums , since 2018): Masuki Satō is Natsume's first role as voice actress. She has been playing the drums since high school . At ESP Gakuen, a vocational school , she founded a school band with her classmates there. After an appearance on the tenth anniversary of Bushiroad , Kidani integrated her into the BanG Dream! Franchise.
  • Reo Kurachi (Reona "Pareo" Nyūbara, keyboard , since 2018): Kurachi learned to play the piano in her childhood . Her interest in dubbing was boosted by the series K-On! and Fullmetal Alchemist , so that she came to the agency S Inc. in 2016 and has been working as a voice actress ever since.
  • Risa Tsumugi (Chiyu "CHU2" Tamade, producer , DJane , since 2018): Tsumugi was introduced as a member of the band at the group's second concert at Akesaka Blitz . Inspired by Aya Hirano's speaking role in the anime television series Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu , Tsumugi began a career as a voice actress herself. Tsumugi is fluent in English due to her education outside of Japan . Kidani integrated her into the project because he saw her as an opportunity to help the franchise grow internationally. RAISE A SUILEN within the BanG Dream! Franchise

RAISE A SUILEN's fictional band members were born during the BanG Dream! 6th ☆ presented live . The anime streaming service HiDive describes the band as "an eclectic mix of aesthetics that reflects the crazy mix of styles in their music," which also includes electronic rock inserts .

Within the anime series , the group appears from the second season. Chiyu Tamade founded this after her offer to join Roselia as a producer was rejected by the singer Yukina Minato in order to get revenge on her and her band. Part of this endeavor was also the inclusion of Tae Hanazono from Poppin'Party . In the third season, RAISE A SUILEN is the main focus of the series. The band has been playable in mobile games since June 10, 2020.

Since January 2019 a manga by Kō Nakamura and Ryū Shihara has been published in Monthly Bushiroad under the title RAiSe! The story of my music .
