Aleh Antonawitsch Mikultschyk ( Belarusian Алег Антонавіч Мікульчык , Russian Олег Антонович Микульчик / Oleg Antonovich Mikultschik * 21st June 1964 in Minsk , Byelorussian SSR ) is a former Belarusian ice hockey player , who in his career including for the Winnipeg Jets and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the National Hockey League , as well as the Nürnberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League . Since the end of his career he has worked as a trainer.
Career
Aleh Mikultschyk began his career as a hockey player in the youth division of the HK Dynamo Moscow , for whose professional team he was active in the top Soviet league from 1983 to 1991. During this time he won the Soviet championship with Dynamo in 1990 and 1991 . For the 1991/92 season, the defender moved to Chimik Woskressensk , for which he only played 15 games before he was committed by the Winnipeg Jets . For this he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 1993/94 season , where he was a template in four games. In his time in the Jets franchise , he was mainly used for their farm teams from the American Hockey League , the New Haven Nighthawks , Moncton Hawks and Springfield Falcons . In the summer of 1995, the Belarusian signed a contract with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim , for which he played eight more games in the NHL. The rest of the time he spent with their farm teams, the Baltimore Bandits from the AHL and the Long Beach Ice Dogs and Fort Wayne Komets from the International Hockey League .
After he was used exclusively in the IHL last year, Mikultschik signed for the 1997/98 season with the Nuremberg Ice Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League . For this he scored four goals in 41 games and gave 15 templates. He then moved to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from the Russian Super League . With this he won the European Hockey League in 1999 and 2000 and was also Russian champion in the 1998/99 season . From 2000 to 2002, the right - shooter was on the ice for Krylya Sowetow Moscow and his ex-club Chimik Voskressensk in the second-rate Vysschaya League . The 2002/03 season he again spent in the super league at HK Metschel Chelyabinsk and Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk . From 2003 to 2007 Mikultschyk was in the Belarusian extra league in his hometown with HK Junost Minsk and its league rivals HK Dinamo Minsk under contract. With Junost he was Belarusian champion in 2004 and 2005 , and cup winner in 2004. With Dinamo he won the Belarusian championship again in the 2006/07 season after winning the Cup in 2006 at the end of his career. He then ended his professional career at the age of 42.
International
For the Soviet Union , Mikultschik took part in the Junior World Championship in 1984 . For Belarus he took part in the World Championships in 1998 , 1999 , 2001 and 2005 . Furthermore, he was in Belarus' squad for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , as well as qualifying for those Winter Games and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .
As a trainer
In 2007, Mikultschyk became assistant coach at HK Dinamo and worked in parallel as assistant coach for the Belarusian national team until 2008 . In the 2010/11 season he was full-time in charge of both the U20 national team of Belarus and the MHL junior team at HK Dinamo Minsk. In the 2011/12 season Mikultschyk is the head coach of the second team of HK Donbass Donetsk , with which he won the Ukrainian championship in 2012. In the 2013/14 season Mikultschyk was again assistant coach at HK Dinamo, and he also looked after the Belarusian national team at the 2014 World Cup .
In the 2015/16 season he was assistant coach at Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , and from November 2016 until the end of the 2017/18 season at Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg .
