Alfred Zulkowski (born August 12, 1940 - October 19, 1989 in Wismar ) was a German football goalkeeper .

Athletic career

Communities and clubs

Zulkowski began playing football at home BSG Motor Wismar , before moving to ASK Vorwärts Neubrandenburg within the third-class II division at the turn of the year 1959/60 . With the Army Sports Club in 1960 he was promoted to the 2nd level of GDR football , the I. League . After a year and a half in the Viertorestadt , Zulkowski was delegated to the upper division ASK Vorwärts Berlin in January 1962 . Even without a commitment, he was able to win his first national championship in the capital after six months. As a regular goalkeeper and thus successor to long-time forward keeper Karl-Heinz Spickenagel , he won his second championship title in 1965 , which was followed by two more in 1966 and 1969 . After Zulkowski was eliminated from the FDGB Cup semi-finals three times in a row with the Berliners between 1967 and 1969 , he was also able to win the national cup competition for the first time in 1970 after beating 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig 4-2 in the final .

After FC Vorwärts Berlin was delegated to Frankfurt (Oder) in 1971, Zulkowski did not move to the footballing province. Instead, he joined the lower class BSG NARVA Berlin , with whom he was able to move up to the second class league for a year in 1974 .

Selection bets

On December 16, 1962, the trained shipbuilder was appointed to his only A international match on the GDR team's Africa trip against Guinea . He was later unable to assert himself against the Rostock goalkeeper Jürgen Heinsch and the Leipzig goalkeeper Horst Weigang . Furthermore, Zulkowski came to a use in the B national team and four games in the U-23 selection .

Further career

After the end of his sporting career, Zulkowski worked, among other things, as a coal carrier. The former goalkeeper died at the age of 49 in his hometown of Wismar.
