Amphoe Kaset Wisai ( Thai : อำเภอ เกษตรวิสัย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the southwest of the province of Roi Et . The province of Roi Et is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Amphoe Kaset Wisai borders the following counties (from north clockwise): Amphoe Chaturaphak Phiman , Mueang Suang and Suwannaphum in the province of Roi Et, Amphoe Phayakkhaphum Phisai in the province of Maha Sarakham , and Amphoe Pathum Rat in Roi Et, as well at Amphoe Wapi Pathum of Maha Sarakham Province .

history

Ruins in the Khmer style like Ku Phon Wit , Ku Ka Sing and Ku Phon Rakhang in Tambon Ku Ka Sing document that the area must have belonged to the area of ​​influence of the Khmer Empire of Angkor in the 12th and 13th centuries.

The county was originally called Nong Waeng, but in 1939 it was renamed Kaset Wisai.
