Amphoe Si Somdet ( Thai : อำเภอ ศรี สมเด็จ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Roi Et . The province of Roi Et is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Amphoe Si Somdet borders the following counties (clockwise from the north): Amphoe Mueang Roi Et and Chaturaphak Phiman in the province of Roi Et, and Amphoe Wapi Pathum , Kae Dam and Mueang Maha Sarakham in the province of Maha Sarakham .

history

Si Somdet was set up on April 1, 1987, initially as a “branch circle” ( King Amphoe ) by separating the five Tambon Pho Thong, Si Somdet, Mueang Plueai, Nong Yai and Suan Chik from the Mueang Roi Et district . On July 4, 1994, it was promoted to Amphoe.

There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Pho Thong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพธิ์ทอง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Pho Thong.
  • Si Somdet (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ศรี สมเด็จ ) consisting of the complete tambon Si Somdet.
  • Ban Bak (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน บาก ) consisting of the complete Tambon Ban Bak.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Mueang Plueai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เมือง เปลือย ) consisting of the complete tambon Mueang Plueai.
  • Nong Yai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนองใหญ่ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Yai.
  • Suan Chik (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สวน จิก ) consisting of the complete tambon Suan Chik.
  • Phosai (Thai: องค์การ บริหารส่วน ตำบล โพธิ์ สั ย ) consisting of the complete tambon Phosai.
  • Nong Waeng Khuang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง แวง ควง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Waeng Khuang.
