Amphoe Phon Thong ( Thai : อำเภอ โพนทอง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of the province of Roi Et . The province of Roi Et is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Phon Thong District borders the following counties (from the east clockwise) to the Amphoe Moei Wadi , Nong Phok , Selaphum and Pho Chai in the province of Roi Et, as well as Amphoe Kuchinarai the province of Kalasin .

history

Phon Thong was established on November 23, 1919, at the time consisting of two tambon that had been separated from Selaphum, two tambon from the Amphoe Kamalasai and two from the Amphoe Kuchinarai.

In 1939 both the district and the main tambon were renamed "Waeng", but in 1953 the name of the district was changed back to Phon Thong.

Local administration

There are six municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Waeng (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แวง ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Waeng.
  • Khok Kok Muang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โคก กก ม่วง ) consisting of the complete tambon Khok Kok Muang.
  • Pho Thong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพธิ์ทอง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Pho Thong.
  • Non Chai Si (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โนน ชัยศรี ) consisting of the complete tambon Non Chai Si.
  • Khok Sung (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โคก สูง ) consisting of the complete tambon Khok Sung.
  • Phon Thong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพนทอง ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Waeng, Sa Nok Kaeo.

There are also nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Na Udom (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล นา อุดม ) consisting of the complete tambon Na Udom.
  • Sawang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สว่าง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Sawang.
  • Nong Yai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนองใหญ่ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Yai.
  • Pho Si Sawang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล โพธิ์ ศรี สว่าง ) consisting of the complete tambon Pho Si Sawang.
  • Um Mao (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล อุ่ ม เม่า ) consisting of the complete tambon Um Mao.
  • Kham Na Di (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล คำ นาดี ) consisting of the complete tambon Kham Na Di.
  • Phrom Sawan (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล พรม สวรรค์ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Phrom Sawan.
  • Sa Nok Kaeo (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สระ นก แก้ว ) consisting of parts of the Sa Nok Kaeo tambon.
  • Wang Samakkhi (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วัง สามัคคี ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Samakkhi.
