Amphoe Phon Sai ( Thai : อำเภอ โพนทราย ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the southeast of the province of Roi Et . The province of Roi Et is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Phon Sai District borders the following counties (from west clockwise) to the Amphoe Suwannaphum and Nong Hi in the province of Roi Et, the Amohoe Sila Lat and Rasi Salai the province of Si Sa Ket and to Amphoe Rattanaburi the province of Surin .

history

Phon Sai was initially set up on November 16, 1976 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating the two tambon Phon Sai and Samkha from the Amphoe Suwannaphum . It was promoted to Amphoe on May 25, 1989.

Phon Sai County is divided into five tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 57 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Sam Kha (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สามขา ) consisting of the complete Tambon Sam Kha.
  • Phon Sai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพนทราย ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Phon Sai.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Si Sawang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ศรี สว่าง ) consisting of the complete tambon Si Sawang.
  • Yang Kham (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ยาง คำ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Yang Kham and parts of the Tambon Phon Sai.
  • Tha Hat Yao (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ท่า หาด ยาว ) consisting of the complete tambon Tha Hat Yao.
