The Darß / Fischland office is located in the Vorpommern-Rügen district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). In the Darß / Fischland office , the six communities Ahrenshoop, Born a. Darß, Dierhagen, Prerow, Wieck a. Darß and Wustrow joined forces to carry out their administrative business. The administrative headquarters are in Born a. Darß .
The official area includes Fischland and Darß with the exception of the municipality of Zingst . The north and west of the office border on the Baltic Sea . The south borders on the Saaler Bodden except for a narrow isthmus near Dierhagen . The city of Rostock is located southwest of the office . The office is largely in the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park .
Economically only tourism is worth mentioning, the fishing industry also plays a certain role. There are no larger industrial settlements. There are no federal roads through the Darß / Fischland office. The office is well connected in terms of traffic via the cities of Ribnitz-Damgarten and Barth (both on the B 105 ). Motorways 19 and 20 run to the south and south-west . Barth Airport is located south of the office .

The office does not have an officially approved national emblem, neither a coat of arms nor a flag . The official seal is the small state seal with the coat of arms of the region of Western Pomerania . It shows an upright griffin with a raised tail and the inscription "Amt Darß / Fischland".
