Location of the Miltzow office in the Vorpommern-Rügen district

The office Miltzow is located in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany). The municipalities of Behnkendorf, Brandshagen, Horst, Kirchdorf, Miltzow, Reinberg and Wilmshagen originally came together in the Miltzow office to handle their administrative business. Since January 1, 2004 the municipalities of Elmenhorst and Wittenhagen belong to the office. With the exception of Elmenhorst and Wittenhagen, all municipalities of the office merged on June 7, 2009 to form the new municipality of Sundhagen . Thus the office still consists of 3 municipalities, the administrative administration is in the Sundhagener district Miltzow .

The official area extends southwest and south of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund . The north borders on the office of Niepars and the city of Stralsund, the west borders on the office of Franzburg-Richtenberg and the south borders on the municipality of Süderholz , the city of Grimmen and the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald . In the east, part of the office borders the Strelasund and the Greifswalder Bodden . There are no large lakes or rivers in the municipality. There are also no noteworthy surveys in the office.

Economically, only the industrial areas around Stralsund play a minor role and tourism is also not very important. The region is hoping for further upswing with the new federal highway 96 . The B 194 and the B 105 also pass through the Miltzow office . The federal motorway 20 runs south of the office .
