Schuler made his international debut at the FIS Junior Show Jumping in 2008. In September of the same year he competed in the Alpine Cup for the first time in Predazzo , but was unsuccessful. In 2011 Schuler started at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Liberec and reached 37th place in the individual and 10th place with the team. At the Swiss ski jumping championships in 2011 in Einsiedeln , he and the team won the silver medal.

In December 2011, he started in Engelberg for the first time in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . However, Schuler only landed in 72nd and 74th place. Even after another year in the C-squad, he was only able to show slight improvements in 2012 in the same position in the Continental Cup.

At the Junior World Championships 2013 in Liberec , Czech Republic , he finished eleventh in the team competition with the Swiss team. At the 2013 Swiss Ski Jumping Championships in Chaux-Neuve , France , he won the team title together with Pascal Sommer , Tobias Birchler and Pascal Kälin .

In the winter of 2013/14 Schuler started with a third place in the Alpine Cup show jumping in Seefeld in Tyrol . At the following Continental Cup competition in Engelberg, he was 37th again without winning a point and was even disqualified in the second competition. At the Junior World Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme , Italy , Schuler jumped to 32nd place in the individual, before reaching seventh place with the team in the team competition. Schuler spent the rest of February jumping in the Continental Cup, but was only able to jump once into the points in Iron Mountain as 18th.

In summer 2014 Schuler started in Einsiedeln for the first time in the ski jumping Grand Prix , but was 66th in the qualification. He then remained in the Swiss C-squad and continues to jump in the Alpine and FIS Cups. After he climbed the podium in third place on December 11th in Notodden , a week later he received the nomination for the qualification for the Ski Jumping World Cup in Engelberg . After he did surprisingly well in qualifying as 32nd, he clearly missed his first World Cup points in the competition as 48th. At the 2015 Junior World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan, he was 33rd in the individual and seventh with the Swiss team.

Schuler has held the summer record of 50 meters on the large KPT ski jump in Einsiedeln since 2005 .

In addition, Schuler has held the hill record of 111 m on the HS 106 - Lötschberg in Kandersteg since January 29, 2017. At the 2017 World Championships in Lahti , Finland , he finished 46th on the normal and 47th on the large hill. With the Swiss team, he was tenth in the men's team competition.

Andreas Schuler had his greatest success so far on August 20, 2017 in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm . He finished second and was on a podium in the Continental Cup for the first time. At the Ski Flying World Championships 2018 in Oberstdorf he was 37th in the singles and sixth with the team. As part of Raw Air 2018 in Oslo, on March 11, 2018 , Schuler managed to jump into a second round of a World Cup for the first time with a 29th place and thus scored his first World Cup points.

At the Swiss Ski Jumping Championships 2018 in Einsiedeln and Kandersteg , he won the bronze medal in the individual. Together with Lars Kindlimann , Pascal Kälin and Dominik Peter , he won the team title, with which he has already won six gold medals at Swiss championships .

On November 25, 2018, Schuler achieved the second round of a World Cup competition in Ruka, Finland, for the second time in his career and was 30th with a World Cup point. At the 2019 World Championships in Seefeld in Tirol , he reached 26th place in the individual jumping on the large hill and 41st place on the normal hill. With the Swiss men's team, he was seventh in the team competition.
