Andreas Schick

Andreas Franz Schick (born June 3, 1961 in Bad Sobernheim ) is a German Brigadier General in the Air Force and has been Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the European Air Transport Command (EATC) since June 28, 2017 .

Andreas Schick joined the German Armed Forces as a conscript in 1980 and was deployed from 1980 to 1982 as an air service soldier in the squadron command post of Jagdbombergeschwader 35 in Pferdfeld . From 1982 to 1983 he completed officer training at the Air Force Officer School in Fürstenfeldbruck . From 1984 to 1985, Schick completed his aviation training in the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) program at Sheppard Air Force Base in the USA . From 1985 to 1994 he was employed as a fighter pilot on the F-4 Phantom, flight instructor, squadron operations officer and squadron operations officer in Jagdgeschwader 71 "Richthofen" in Wittmund . He completed his training as a flight instructor in 1989 with Jagdgeschwader 72 "Westfalen" in Rheine. From 1994 to 1996 Schick completed the general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg .

Service as a staff officer

After completing his general staff training, Schick was squadron captain of the 2nd flying squadron in Jagdgeschwader 71 "Richthofen" from 1996 to 1998. From 1998 to 1999, Schick was employed as a staff officer in Department A5 for the conceptual fundamentals, organization, manufacture and maintenance of the weapon systems of the Air Force Command in Cologne . From 1999 to 2001 he was employed as a deputy head of department in the headquarters of the armed forces in Bonn . From 2001 to 2004 Schick was Adjutant at the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Mons , Belgium . From 2004 to 2005 he was Head of Section Fü L III 5 Basic Issues Management and Use of Airborne Forces / Resources in the Air Force Command in Bonn. This was followed by a position as Chief of Staff of the 1st Air Force Division in Fürstenfeldbruck. From 2007 to 2010 he was commodore of Jagdgeschwader 73 in Rostock-Laage . He then took part in Senior Course 117 at the NATO Defense College in Rome in 2011 . From 2011 to 2012, Schick was group leader of Task Force 4 Standby Forces in the command and control command of the Bundeswehr in Schwielowsee near Potsdam . There was a use as Deputy Director Leadership & Air Force use the Command Air Force in Berlin . From 2013 to 2014, Schick was Head of Division SE II 5 Military Policy, Basic Affairs , International Interest Representation GenInsp at the Federal Ministry of Defense in Berlin.

Service as a general

From 2014 to 2017, Schick was the head of the air division in the air force command in Cologne. On this post he was also promoted to brigadier general. He handed this over to Colonel Stefan Scheibl in June 2017 . On June 28, 2017, Schick took over his current post at the European Air Transport Command (EATC) in Eindhoven , Netherlands .

Schick is a command pilot with more than 2,600 flight hours on T-37 , T-38 , F-4 Phantom II and Eurofighter .
