Andrei Borissowitsch Perlow ( Russian Андрей Борисович Перлов , English transcription Andrey Perlov ; born December 12, 1961 in Novosibirsk ) is a former Russian athlete and Olympic champion who competed for the Soviet Union until 1991 and for the Commonwealth of Independent States in 1992.

Andrei Perlow was one of the best walkers in the world for a decade. Because of the high level of performance in the Soviet Union, however, he only took part in a few international championships.

Perlow won his first major title at the 1990 European Championships in Split . In 3:54:36 h he won the 50 km walk clearly ahead of the two GDR walkers Bernd Gummelt and Hartwig Gauder .

At the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo , the 50-kilometer competition started at 7 a.m. local time. Nevertheless, the race at 25 degrees and 97% humidity became an ordeal for the participants. After the two Russians Aljaksandr Pataschou and Andrei Perlow had worked out a clear lead over third-placed Hartwig Gauder, they did not fight against each other on the home straight, but crossed the finish line together with one arm on the shoulder of their teammate. After 3 hours, 53 minutes and nine seconds, the target camera showed Pataschou a hundredth of a second ahead, so Pataschou received gold and Perlow silver.

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , Perlow did not agree to the final straight decision, but took the lead over the last 10 kilometers. He won in 3:50:13 h safely ahead of the Mexican Carlos Mercenario and the German Ronald Weigel .

Andrei Perlow is 1.78 m tall and weighed 65 kg at competition times.
