Anita is located in the southwest of Iowa on both sides of Turkey Creek , which belongs to the Missouri river basin via the East Nishnabotna River and the Nishnabotna River .
The geographical coordinates of Anita are 41 ° 26'43 "north latitude and 94 ° 45'53" west longitude. The city covers an area of 4.4 km² and is the largest town within Grant Township .
To the south, the urban area is bordered by Lake Anita State Park , a recreation area around Lake Anita .
