The Lände Drömling is an emergency port in the area of the city of Oebisfelde-Weferlingen in the district of Börde , Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
The land is located one kilometer east of the Bergfriede district on the federal waterway Mittellandkanal at MLK-km 269 north at an altitude of 56 m above sea level. NN . Immediately to the north is the extensive nature reserve Ohre-Drömling .
history
Between 1934 and 1938, the section of the Mittelland Canal from Wolfsburg towards Magdeburg was built. In the autumn of 1938 the breakthrough to the Elbe took place. As early as 1937, work progressed only slowly and finally came to a complete standstill east of Magdeburg in 1942 due to the war. At first there was no loading point in the Drömling . Natural resources, agricultural products and armaments were only handled sporadically on the open road.
Only after the turn of the channel was there a landing point for the expansion and upgrading at work commercial vessels built.
After the wreck of two cargo ships, a 67 m ship loaded with iron bars sank in October 2014. The salvage work severely hampered shipping for ten days, and 60 inland vessels were jammed.
In March 2016 there was water pollution by a 1 km long oil film , the cause of which, however, could not be determined.
Transport and infrastructure
There is no regular transshipment at the Drömling site. On the 1200 m sloping bank there are only dolphins and a few landing stages . There are berths for ten motorized goods ships or six push convoys . In the event of serious malfunctions in the canal, for example a dam break or permanent icing, emergency relief would be possible there with mobile funding , but this has practically never happened before.
Immediately to the west, the Bundesstrasse 188 and the Berlin – Lehrte railway cross the canal. There is a cross-free driveway to the main road. There are public transport connections from the nearby Frankenfelde Ort bus stop, and there is no charging or boarding option for the railway line.
