Anna Rita Del Piano (* 26 July 1966 in Cassano delle Murge as Anna Rita Viapiano ) is an Italian film actress , theater actress and theater director .

Life

Education and theater

Del Piano was born in the province of Bari , Apulia , in southern Italy . She spent her childhood in her native Cassano delle Murge. Her family later moved to Matera ; there she received classical ballet lessons . At the age of eight she first appeared on stage in a ballet performance. Del Piano initially trained as a ballet dancer with Maestro Niccolò Piccinni in Bari . In 1984 she performed in Bari together with Momcilo Borojevic . She was a member of the Dance Mania Dance Company in Venosa , where the dancer and choreographer Tani Viti was her partner. She graduated from the University of Urbino at the Istituto Superiore di Educazione Fisica with a diploma. She studied at the Conservatorio Musicale Egidio Romualdo Duni in Matera; there she obtained a diploma in singing and music theory .

At the age of 10, Del Piano developed a great interest in theater and drama . She later attended various acting schools and acting courses, including 1986 the Laboratorio Teatrale "Hermes" (direction: Emilio Andrisani), 1989 the Laboratorio Teatrale of the Teatro dei Sassi in Matera (direction: Massimo Lanzetti and Loredana Paolicelli) and 1989 the Stage Teatrale sulla parola nel linguaggio (direction: Mario Scaccia). Del Piano initially appeared on small local stages as a theater actress, mainly in Matera and southern Italy. Further studies followed in the 1990s at various drama schools in Rome ; Since 1997 Del Piano has also regularly attended acting courses based on the Lee Strasberg method . Her acting role models include Anna Magnani , Katharine Hepburn and Meryl Streep .

Later in her career as a theater actress, Del Piano played Medea in the play Yerma e le altre by Daniela Ferri (2005; Teatro Agorà Rome), Iokaste in Edipo Re (2007; Parco delle Catacombe di Generosa Rome), the housekeeper La Poncia (Italian: Ponzia) in Bernarda Alba's house and the astrologer Angela in the world premiere of the play Nulla è cambiato by Paola Aspri (2011; Teatro Sala Uno Rome).

Anna Rita del Piano has lived permanently in Rome for many years .

Cinema and television

Her first contact with the cinema came in 1993 in Matera while filming the film The Man Who Makes the Stars (1995). The director Giuseppe Tornatore gave her a small role in the film and advised her to pursue an acting career after auditioning with him. In the course of her career she had numerous other cinema roles: among others as Rocco's mother (mother of a classmate who focuses on the two boys Stefano and Gino) in the film drama Tornare Indietro (2002) by Renzo Badolisani , as Rollos mother (mother of the male Protagonists) in the road movie Verso nord (2004), as social worker Giusi in the film drama Le bande (2005) directed by Lucio Giordano , as ticket seller in the cinema (in the original: Bigliettaia ) in the comedy Focaccia Blues (2009) by Nico Cirasola , as widow Pavone in the comedy film L'uomo nero (2009) by Sergio Rubini and as Anna (mother of the male film lead) in the comedy film Che bella giornata (2011) by Checco Zalone . In 2013 she starred in the role of Giovanna in the comedy Una vita da sogno, directed by Domenico Costanzo .

In 1996 she made her debut as a television actress in the television film The Four Kings (1997) directed by Stefano Reali in the role of a beautiful leper . In 1999 she played, again under the direction of Stefano Reali, the wife of a brutal, dangerous gang boss in the television film Ultimo ; Raoul Bova was one of her partners . In 2000 she had a role in the television drama The Flight of the Eagle and the sequel Le Ali della Vita 2 , alongside Sabrina Ferilli and Virna Lisi ; she played the role of the nun sister Celestina. In the television film Maria Goretti (2003), a film adaptation of the life of the Catholic martyr Maria Goretti , she played Teresa Cimarelli, the godmother and godmother of Maria Goretti. In 2003 she had a supporting role in the television series Don Matteo (with Terence Hill ) Rossana. In the television film L'uomo sbagliato (2005) she played again under the direction of Stefano Reali, at the side of Beppe Fiorello , in the role of Cristiana, the film fiancée. In the crime film Butta la Luna (2006) with Nino Frassica and Fiona May , she took on the role of police inspector.

Between 2001 and 2005 Anna Rita Del Piano was at the Festival del Cinema e della Televisione in Salerno for their roles in the category "Best Supporting Actress" (Miglior "Attrice non protagonista") Le ali della vita 2 and L'uomo sbagliato awarded .

Singing, reciting and directing

Del Piano is also active as a singer . Her repertoire includes renaissance music , opera , operetta and jazz .

In 2004 she appeared as Clotilde in the opera Norma . Since 2004 she has been working regularly with the ensemble SYMPHONIA MEDIEVALE ; she appears as a singing soloist in historical costumes with sacred and secular compositions of music from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. In August 2009 she was a guest in her hometown Cassano with L'Ensemble Medievale with the program De Laeta Vita as a soloist. She also appears regularly with the Il Rondello ensemble . In 2009 she toured with the program Ombretenue , a scenic and musical homage to jazz singer Billie Holiday .

Del Piano is also a regular reciter . In 2003 she was the narrator in a production of Peter and the Wolf . In 2004 she designed the Un Viaggio chiamato Amore program as a singer and reciter together with Michele Placido as a partner . In April 2012, along with Michele Placido, Corinne Cléry and Alessandro Haber , she was one of the reciters at the Anfiteatro dell'Antiquarium di Ficocella in Palinuro at a scenic and musical reading entitled Dalla notte del mito all'Eneide nei luoghi e nei tempi di Virgilio with Excerpts from the Aeneid .

In 2011 she staged the musical Parigi nell'Anno del Signore in Cassano delle Murge based on motifs from the novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame ; In addition, she worked as a narrator in production alongside directing.
