Anthony Weradet Chaiseri

Anthony Weradet Chaiseri ( Thai : แอ น โธ นี่ วีระ เดช ใจ เสรี * 26. June 1963 in Tha Rae , district Mueang Sakon Nakhon , province of Sakon Nakhon , Northeastern Region ) is a Thai priest and the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Thare and Nonseng .

Life

Anthony Weradet Chaiseri attended the Minor Seminary in Tha Rae. He then studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Lux Mundi seminary in Sam Phran . Chaiseri became a member of the Focolare Movement and from 1991 to 1992 completed a course in Spirituality at the Priest School for Asia of the Focolare Movement in Tagaytay , Philippines . He received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Thare and Nonseng on March 21, 1992 .

After his ordination, Anthony Weradet Chaiseri initially worked as parish vicar in the parish of St. Anna in Nong Saeng and as a pastor in Ban Phaeng and Si Songkhram , before he became pastor of the parish of St. Joseph in Nakhon Phanom and commissioner for youth missions in 1993 . In 1995, Chaiseri was sent to Rome for further studies , where he obtained a licentiate in Biblical Theology in 1997 from the Pontifical Urban University . He also completed a course for seminary formators at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum .

After returning to his homeland, Anthony Weradet Chaiseri was initially a trainer at the Small Seminary in Tha Rae and from 1998 its rain . From 2003 to 2008 he was also active as a spiritual director at the seminary in Thakhek in Laos , where he also taught Biblical theology. In 2008 Chaiseri became Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Thare and Nonseng. In addition to his work as vicar general, he was also pastor of the parish Sacred Heart of Jesus in Sakon Nakhon (2008-2013), pastor of the Archangel Michael Cathedral in Tha Rae (2013-2018) and rector of the Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Martyrs in Songkhon (from 2018).

On May 13, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Thare and Nonseng. The retired Archbishop of Thare and Nonseng, Louis Chamniern Santisukniram , donated him episcopal ordination on August 15 of the same year in the Archangel Michael Cathedral in Tha Rae ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Thailand, Archbishop Paul Tschang In-Nam , and the Bishop of Ubon Ratchathani , Philip Banchong Chaiyara CSsR .
