Antonin Manavian (born April 26, 1987 in Paris ) is a French ice hockey player of Armenian descent who has been under contract with the Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble in the Ligue Magnus since December 2018 .

Career

Antonin Manavian began his career as an ice hockey player in the 2004/05 season in third-class Division 2 at the Hockey Club du Havre . In the same season he made his professional ice hockey debut when he was once on the ice for Le Havre's partner Dragons de Rouen in Ligue Magnus , the highest French ice hockey league . In the following season, the defender ran in the Canadian Junior League QMJHL for Acadie-Bathurst Titan and the Olympiques de Gatineau . In the summer of 2006 Manavian returned to France , where he played for the top team Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble for the next four years .

With Grenoble Manavian won the French championship title in 2007 and 2009 . He and his team also won the Coupe de France and the Trophée des Champions in 2008 and 2009, and the Coupe de la Ligue in 2007 and 2009 . He himself was elected to the Ligue Magnus All-Star Team in 2010. The 2010/11 season began the national player with the Bakersfield Condors in the ECHL , for which he scored a goal in seven games. In November 2010 he signed a contract with the Ducs d'Angers , for which he scored four goals in 20 games and gave nine assists by the end of the season. For the 2011/12 season he returned to the Dragons de Rouen, where he had started his career, and won both the IIHF Continental Cup and the French championship with the club .

In 2012/13 he played one season for HC Innsbruck from Austria's highest league, where he was the player with the most penalty minutes. He then played again for Rouen, where he won the Coupe de la Ligue with the club in 2014 and the Coup de France a year later, before moving to the Hungarian club Alba Volán Székesfehérvár in the Austrian ice hockey league in 2015 . In May 2017 Manavian signed a contract with the Krefeld Pinguinen from the German Ice Hockey League , but was released before the start of the season. He then returned to the Ducs d'Angers in France and completed three games for the club before he was again committed by Alba Volán Székesfehérvár.

At the beginning of the 2018/19 season he was under contract with KHL Medveščak Zagreb in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League before he returned to the Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble in December 2018.

International

For France, Manavian took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championships in Division I in 2004 and 2005 and the U20 World Junior Championships in Division I in 2006 and 2007 .

In the senior division, he was in his country's squad at the top division World Championships in 2009 , 2010 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 and 2015 as well as at the qualifying tournaments for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , 2014 in Sochi and 2018 in Pyeongchang .
