Antonio M. Fernández

Antonio Manuel Fernández (born January 17, 1902 in Springer , Colfax County , New Mexico , †  November 7, 1956 in Albuquerque , New Mexico) was an American politician .

Fernández studied at Highlands University in Las Vegas and attended Cumberland University in Lebanon , Tennessee . From 1925 to 1930 he was a court stenographer for the eighth judicial district of New Mexico. In 1931 he was accepted into the bar and practiced in Raton ; later he was also active in Santa Fe . In 1935, Fernández was an MP in the New Mexico House of Representatives . He became a Democrat in the United States House of Representatives in 1942elected. He represented his state there from January 3, 1943 until his death on November 7, 1956. He had been re-elected only the day before. Fernández was buried in the Rosario Catholic Cemetery in Santa Fe.
