Career as a football coach

After his active time as a football player, Argel became the coach of the Brazilian club SER Caxias do Sul in 2008 , to which he remained loyal until 2009. In the following years he was briefly coach of various Brazilian clubs; From 2015 to the beginning of 2016 he trained Internacional Porto Alegre . After his release there, Argel went to Figueirense FC . Here he was active until the 21st matchday of the Série A and was then dismissed for failure. In the rest of his career, his engagements rarely lasted longer than a year.

2018–19: Criciúma EC and Coritiba FBC

He started the year at Criciúma EC in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, where he was relieved of his duties in early May after losing the first five game days of Série B. In the end, Criciúma survived the season as 14th and Argel Fucks from September at league rivals Coritiba FC , who finished the season in tenth. It was disposed of at Coritiba after it was eliminated in February 2019 in the first round of the Copa do Brasil 2019 against the club União Recreativa dos Trabalhadores from Minas Gerais, which is also unknown in Brazil .

2019: CSA and Ceará: coach carousel in the Série A relegation battle

On July 1, 2019, he was the first division promoted CS Alagoano from the northeast Brazilian Maceió , then 19th in the national championship successor to Marcelo Cabo. At the end of November, CSA had improved to 18th place after the 35th of 38 match days. Even after a 1-0 win against relegation rivals Cruzeiro EC in Belo Horizonte , after the game 17th, the prospects of relegation were reduced to theoretical. After the game, he submitted his departure and was replaced at the CSA by his assistant Jacozinho and immediately afterwards hired at the 16th Ceará SC , where he replaced Adílson Batista , who in turn replaced the renowned Abel Braga at Cruzeiro.

With Ceará he got two draws and one defeat, which was enough to keep the league. The club strengthened itself for the 2020 state championship. Management found the team was playing poorly. Although she was undefeated, Argel Fucks was fired in February 2020.
