Atsuta ( Japanese ア ツ タ 号 , Atsuta-gō ) was a Japanese car brand.
Brand history
The company Nippon Sharyō Seizō (English Japan Wheel or Japan Atsuta Wheel Co. Ltd. ) from Atsuta , Nagoya is considered the manufacturer. The engine was supplied by the Ōkuma machine factory ( 大 隈 鉄 工 所 , Ōkuma Tekkōjo ). Aichi Tokei Denki ( 愛 知 時 計 電機 ) and Okamoto Jidensha (岡本自 転 車 ) were also involved.
According to the manufacturer, production of automobiles began in 1932 or several other sources from 1933 to 1934. Other sources deviate from this as March 1932 or the end of 1932 as the month of completion. A book that deals specifically with Japanese cars gives 1932 for both production and marketing. The brand name was Atsuta . One of the employees was Takatoshi Kan, who later moved to Toyota . Initially, two vehicles were created. The companies involved were in disagreement about the distribution of costs and the preparation of production, so that Nippon Sharyō Seizō produced another 40 vehicles by 1937 alone. Another source names a total of around 40 vehicles by the time they were discontinued in 1937.

The only model was a large sedan . The vehicles were similar to the Nash Motors models at the time . The water-cooled eight - cylinder engine developed 85 hp from a 3940 cm³ displacement .
Another source gives exactly 3933 cm³ displacement and confirms the engine performance. The drive was conventional with a front engine and rear wheel drive. The first version of the sedan was from 1932 to 1934 and the second from 1934 to 1935. The vehicle was 485 cm long. There was also a four-door touring car with the same engine from 1933 to 1935 .
A subsequent source states that both bodies were made until 1937.
