The Australian Open 2011 took place from August 8-14, 2011 in Canberra , Australia . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the World Series Platinum category .

Defending champion was Nick Matthew , who reached the final again. As in the previous year, he met Ramy Ashour , who defeated Matthew 12:14, 11: 6, 10:12, 11: 8 and 11: 4.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of whom were qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. A wildcard was not awarded.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 150,000.
