The Darmstadt Autobahn triangle (abbreviation: AD Darmstadt ; short form: Dreieck Darmstadt ) / Other name: Darmstädter Nordkreuz (abbreviation: AK Darmstadt-Nord ; short form: Kreuz Darmstadt-Nord ) is a motorway triangle / motorway junction in the Rhine-Main area . Here the federal highway 5 ( Hattenbacher Dreieck - Frankfurt am Main - Basel ) ( E 451 ) crosses the federal highway 672 ( feeder Darmstadt ).
geography
The autobahn triangle / junction is in the area of the city of Darmstadt , with large parts being forcibly removed from Griesheim in 1937 . The surrounding communities are the cities of Weiterstadt and Griesheim. It is located about 30 km south of Frankfurt, about 45 km north of Mannheim and about 30 km southeast of Mainz / Wiesbaden .
The Darmstadt motorway triangle is number 26 on the A 5 and number 2 on the A 672.
State of development
The triangle / cross is a half-leaf clover with the Autobahn 672 running through, which ends in a trumpet at the A67 . It is a functional triangle but an incomplete cross .
The A 5 has eight lanes in this area. There are four lanes on the A 672. All transitions are single-lane.
