The Bärenbachstal is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxon town of Braunlage in the Goslar district .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG BR 064 is 4  hectares in size. It is completely part of the FFH area "Bergwiesen und Wolfsbachtal bei Hohegeiß".

The nature reserve is located in the Harz Nature Park south of Hohegeiß in the Bärenbach valley at the foot of the Lampertsberg. It places a small section of the mountain meadows east of the Hohegeißberg under protection, which are characterized by species-rich meadows with golden oats , bristle grass and cinquefoil . In a marshy valley are wet - and wet meadows in front. The meadows in the nature reserve are divided by tree and shrub hedges .

A campsite borders the nature reserve in the east .

The nature reserve is an important habitat for insects such as butterflies , bumblebees , grasshoppers and ground beetles , but also for numerous other endangered plant and animal species.

The area has been a nature reserve since December 17, 1984. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Goslar.
