Manufacturer and operator

The manufacturer is Siemens Transportation Systems, in whose works in Krefeld - Uerdingen the pre-assembly took place. The final assembly took place in a special depot in Varna . The contract for 25 Desiro Classics was signed on January 7, 2005, and just a week later two multiple units were transferred to Bulgaria. The delivery contract provided for an option, which has since been redeemed, for further electric Desiro Classics, all of which will be delivered in 2008 as the BD® series 30 . On January 23, 2005, a contract was signed with Siemens in Sofia for the maintenance of all 25 trains in a specially built depot in Varna.
