Barles is a French municipality with 134 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It belongs to the canton of Seyne in the Arrondissement of Digne-les-Bains . The residents call themselves Barlatans .

The place is at 987  m . The river Bès comes from the east and leaves Barles towards the south. The departmental road D900A follows the valley of the Bès. Barles borders on Selonnet to the north, Auzet and Verdaches to the east, Beaujeu (point of contact) to the southeast, La Javie and La Robine-sur-Galabre to the south, Authon to the southwest and Bayons to the west .
