The BAUMANN / GLAS / 1886 is an Austrian company in Baumgartenberg in the district Perg in Upper Austria . It deals with the production of glass facades , winter gardens , louvred windows, patio roofs, louvred roofs, pergolas and panoramic glazing made of wood and aluminum structures.

history

The family business, founded in 1886, has developed from a glazier to a glass construction specialist and developed a process for the renovation of glass houses , such as the Viennese palm houses ( Palmenhaus (Vienna-Schönbrunn) , Palmenhaus (Vienna) and the sundial house (Vienna-Schönbrunn) ). The registered trademark Palmhaus goes back to these activities .

Since 1982 the company has been run in the fourth generation by Franz Baumann.

In 2000, the company left its previous location in Perg and built the Palmhaus factory in Baumgartenberg with production, administration and sales. In 2006 license production of flood protection walls began and in 2008 the production of energy facades made of aluminum and glass . In 2008 the company's turnover was around € 15.8 million, generated by a little more than 100 employees.

In 2009, based on its experience in flood protection, the company set up the "Life Ball Water Worlds" on Vienna's Rathausplatz and was the official main sponsor of the Life Ball 2009. In 2008, activities relating to flood protection were outsourced to the subsidiary AquaBLOC Flood Protection.

Culture glass house

In Austria, the Palmhaus factory has been known as a culture glass house since it opened in 2000, where cultural events are regularly held on the company's initiative. It is one of the venues for events from FM5 , Global 2000 and the Donaufestwochen .

Cabaret Palm House

The Kabarett-Palmhaus is a cooperation with the ASKÖ-Perg founded in 2003 and organizes performances by various cabaret artists. The events of the "KABARETT PalmHaus" take place in large event centers in the Perg district. The following artists have been hired to perform so far (chronologically): Marion Petric , Alfred Dorfer , Thomas Stipsits & Manuel Rubey (2 ×), Wolfgang Pissecker , Peter and Teuscher , Andrea Händler , Stermann & Grissemann , Klaus Eckel , Gerhard Polt , Stefan Waghubinger , Comedy shepherds .
