Bavarian environmental award

The Bavarian Environmental Prize of the Bavarian State Foundation is an environmental prize that has been awarded since 1985.

This prize, which is endowed with 30,000 euros, recognizes outstanding achievements in the field of environmental protection, in particular practical and scientific achievements that contribute in particular to the preservation and improvement of the environment and at the same time have a close relationship with Bavaria. Essentially, contributions from the following areas are taken into account:

Services related to climate protection or in the area of ​​ecologically sustainable management are also possible. Private volunteer work for the environment can play a special role in awarding the prize. The prize can be awarded to individuals or groups, regardless of the legal form. Awards were suspended for 2003 and 2004.

The implementing body is the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (LfU) in Augsburg .
