SAR 41

SAR 41 is the name of the Bundeswehr rescue helicopter from Nörvenich / Düren district . The Bell UH-1D machine was stationed at Nörvenich Air Base in the 1970s and is part of the Army's SAR squadron . The Bell UH-1D will be retired in September 2020 and replaced by an Airbus helicopter , model H145 LUH SAR ( Light Support Helicopter Search and Rescue ).

tasks

The tasks include deployments within the scope of " search and rescue " for example for crashed and overdue aircraft, primary deployments especially in the Cologne administrative district, in parts of the Düsseldorf administrative district and in the Eifel as well as secondary deployments when patients are transferred to a special clinic. The operations are coordinated by the RCC SAR control center in Münster .

Crew and equipment

The crew of the rescue helicopter includes two pilots (previously a pilot and an on-board attendant) and an air rescue master ( paramedic / paramedic ). An emergency doctor is not part of the permanent crew. It can be recorded on site. As a rescue helicopter with winch, the machine is fully equipped with a ventilator , EKG / defibrillator , syringe pumps, vacuum mattress and emergency backpack .
