Christoph 45 is a rescue helicopter from the German Air Rescue Service , which is stationed in Friedrichshafen , Baden-Württemberg . The location has been in operation since October 1980 and is located at the Friedrichshafen Clinic on the north-western outskirts of the city. It represents the southernmost location of the German Air Rescue Service.

history

The first helicopter was put into service on October 20, 1980. A Bo 105 was in service until April 2009 . By April 2008, the helicopter had flown 21,000 sorties. The Bo 105 was replaced by a Eurocopter EC 135 . An EC135 T3H (H135) has been in use since May 2018.

The crew of the Eurocopter EC 135 consists of a pilot , an emergency doctor and an air rescue assistant . Three pilots and paramedics from the German Air Rescue Service are employed at the site. In addition, 23 emergency doctors are available, most of whom are provided by the Friedrichshafen Clinic. A lifeguard can be taken on board if necessary .
