Christoph 37 is a rescue helicopter of the DRF Luftrettung stationed at the Südharz Klinikum Nordhausen .

history

The air rescue center was put into operation on October 1st, 1992 at the Südharz Klinikum Nordhausen and was looked after by the Federal Ministry of the Interior until June 30th, 2006. An orange-colored Bell UH-1D was used until the end of the 1990s , which until then had been manned by two men from the Federal Border Police. Since the "single-engine design and the power reserves in emergency situations" of the Bell UH-1D were not sufficient for the federal government, a BO 105 CBS was procured as a replacement at the end of the 1990s .

On July 30, 2006, the then German Air Rescue Service (DRF) took over the operation of the air rescue center in cooperation with the local DRK district association and the Südharz Klinikum Nordhausen. A Eurocopter EC 135 rescue helicopter was stationed . This machine still flies to its missions from the location of the DRF air rescue center from the Südharz Klinikum Nordhausen.
