Christoph 63 (formerly Christoph Leipzig ) is the radio call of a rescue helicopter of the ADAC , which for the air rescue in the city of Leipzig has been asked and surrounding regions.
Station, use and occupation
The helicopter is stationed at the Dölzig Air Rescue Center in Schkeuditz -Dölzig. It is open daily from sunrise to sunset in readiness . He is alerted by the fire brigade and rescue control center Leipzig (radio call name Florian Leipzig ) for rescue operations with an emergency doctor indication if an emergency doctor vehicle (NEF) is not available in time or the type of injury makes it necessary to transport a patient by helicopter.
During his missions, Christoph 63 is manned by an ADAC air rescue pilot , an emergency doctor and a paramedic . The paramedics are part of the helicopter crew ( HEMS Technical Crew Member ) and support the pilot in the areas of communication and navigation, while the emergency doctor is legally a passenger .
history
Christoph 63 entered service on June 1, 1991. The operator was the international air ambulance until October 31, 2005 , which was replaced by the ADAC air rescue .
First, the rescue helicopter was together with Christoph 61 , at the airport Leipzig / Halle stationed. The new location in the Dölzig industrial park was inaugurated on December 12, 2007, and the two rescue helicopters have been stationed there ever since.
