Christoph 47 is a rescue helicopter from the DRF Luftrettung , which is used for air rescue in Greifswald and the surrounding area.
Station, use and occupation
The helicopter is stationed in the Greifswald Air Rescue Center at the Greifswald University Hospital . He is around the clock (24 hours) in standby . In emergencies, he is alerted by the integrated rescue control center Greifswald, for intensive care transports from the central allocation office Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Schwerin to rescue operations with an emergency doctor indication , if there is a time advantage compared to a ground-based rescue device, for example an emergency doctor vehicle (NEF), or the type of injury is the transport of a Requires patients by helicopter. Since August 3, 2020, Christoph 47 has also been flying at night. This makes it the eleventh night flight station of the DRF Luftrettung .
During his missions, Christoph 47 is manned by two pilots , an emergency doctor and a paramedic . The paramedics are part of the helicopter crew ( HEMS Crew Member ) and support the pilot in the areas of communication and navigation, while the emergency doctor is legally a passenger .

The Greifswald air rescue center went into operation on April 10, 1992.
A Eurocopter BO 105 was used as the machine until October 2004 , before a change to the Eurocopter EC 145 took place. An Airbus H145 machine has been in use since April 2020 .
