history

The air rescue center was put into operation on June 28, 1987 and operated by DRF Luftrettung with a Bölkow Bo 105 until June 30, 1989 . This was followed by the operator HSH with an Agusta A109 until September 1992 . From October 1992 to October 1998 Rotoflug took over service at the station with a machine of the same type. From October 1998 to January 1999, Rhein-Ruhr-Helikopter operated the service. Rotoflug took over again by November 1999, followed by the Rhein-Ruhr-Helikopter again by December 31, 2001. ADAC Air Rescue has been looking after the station since January 1st, 2002 . The flight type MBB / Kawasaki BK 117 was used until October 2016, and the Airbus Helicopters H145 has been in use since then .

Up until 2011, the station was located directly at Münster / Osnabrück Airport and has since been located approx. 500 m further south in a new building in the FMO Airport Park .

Calls

In 2018, 1013 missions were flown. Areas of application in primary care are the regional association Westphalia-Lippe and southwestern Lower Saxony. Cross-border primary / secondary assignments in the Netherlands are also part of the tasks.
