Christoph 33 is the radio call name of the ADAC rescue helicopter , which was made available for air rescue in and in the region around Senftenberg . He has a weather radar.

Station, use and occupation

The helicopter is stationed at the Senftenberg air rescue center. It is open daily from 7 am to sunset in readiness . He is alerted by the Lausitz control center in Cottbus for rescue operations with an emergency doctor's indication if an emergency medical vehicle (NEF) is not available in time or the type of injury makes it necessary to transport a patient by helicopter.

During his missions, Christoph 33 is manned by a pilot from ADAC Luftrettung, an emergency doctor and a paramedic from the Niederlausitz Clinic. The paramedics are part of the helicopter crew ( HEMS Crew Member ) and support the pilot in the areas of communication and navigation, while the emergency doctor is legally a passenger .

history

Christoph 33 was put into service on December 21, 1991 and has been operated by ADAC Air Rescue ever since . A Bölkow Bo 105 was used as the first machine . This was replaced on March 15, 2007 by the newer Eurocopter EC 135 .

The Christoph 33 shares the location at the Senftenberg air rescue center with the intensive care transport helicopter Christoph Brandenburg .
