Christoph 36 is a rescue helicopter of the DRF Luftrettung stationed at the Magdeburg Municipal Hospital .

history

The air rescue center was put into operation on July 1, 1992 at the Magdeburg Municipal Clinic and was looked after by the Federal Ministry of the Interior (later: Federal Police ) until April 21, 2006 . Until then, a BO 105 CBS or a Bell UH-1D was used . In April 2006 the "Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs" of Saxony-Anhalt announced that the air rescue center in Magdeburg would soon be abandoned by the federal police and that the German air rescue service, now DRF Luftrettung , would take over the location.

On May 10, 2006, the German Air Rescue Service (DRF) took over the operation of the air rescue center and from then on operated it in cooperation with the local Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe Magdeburg and the Magdeburg Municipal Hospital. A Eurocopter EC 135 rescue helicopter was stationed . This machine flew to its missions from the location of the modern DRF air rescue center at the Magdeburg Municipal Clinic until autumn 2017. It was then replaced by an Airbus Helicopters H135 .
