Belten , in Lower Sorbian Běłośin , is part of the municipality of the city of Vetschau / Spreewald in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district in Brandenburg .

location

Belten is located in Lower Lusatia about four kilometers southwest of Vetschau in the official settlement area of ​​the Sorbs / Wends . The surrounding towns are Göritz in the north, Vetschau in the east, Koßwig in the south and Dubrau in the west.

The district road 6628 runs through Belten from Bischdorf to Vetschau. The state road 54 is about two kilometers and the state road 49 about three kilometers away.

history

Belten was first mentioned in 1484 under the name Beltin . The place name comes from the Slavic first name Belota and indicates the history of ownership of the village ("Village of Belota"). Belten served as the Vorwerk for the city of Vetschau.

Belten has always been part of the city of Vetschau. After the Congress of Vienna , Belten came to the Kingdom of Prussia and was located in the district of Calau . On July 25, 1952, Belten was assigned to the newly formed Calau district in the Cottbus district as part of the town of Vetschau . After the fall of the Wall , Belten was in the Calau district in Brandenburg . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , Belten came to the newly formed Oberspreewald-Lausitz district as part of the integration of Vetschau .

There is a listed manor house in Belten. The building is located in the western part of the village on the road between Dubrau and Vetschau. The manor house was built between 1846 and 1855; the building is a two-story building with a gable roof .
