Mountains and the Efzebrücke

Berge is a district of Homberg (Efze) in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse .
The place is 3.4 km northwest of Homberg an der Efze , into which the Klingelbach coming from the east flows on the eastern edge of the village .
Berge was first mentioned in a document in 1277.
There are two churches in the village . The church of the evangelical community is the older and probably dates from the 8th century. In the Thirty Years War it was destroyed and rebuilt in 1791. In 1879 the second church was built for the independent Evangelical Lutheran congregation .
On December 31, 1971, mountains in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the town of Homberg, district Kassel, today Homberg (Efze) , incorporated .
