Berlepsch-Ellerode-Hübenthal is a district in the northwest of the city of Witzenhausen in the Werra-Meißner district in northern Hesse .

Local division

The district with about 130 inhabitants is located above the eastern bank of the Werra on the border with the Lower Saxony district of Göttingen and consists of the following settlements:

The hilly landscape is characterized by the foothills of the sand forest (up to 370 m), north of Hübenthal the Große Hübenberg (approx. 300 m) and northwest of Ellerode the Hessenberg (up to 400 m) and the Kreideberg (approx. 370 m) with the nature reserve NSG Kreideberg near Ellerode .

Neighboring places

Direct neighbors are the Lower Saxony towns of Hedemünden in the west and Atzenhausen and Mollenfelde in the north and the Hessian districts of Hermannrode in the east, Albshausen and Gertenbach in the south.

history

The Berlepsch settlement was first mentioned in 1369, the estate district in 1294 and the Hübenthal estate in 1032.

The municipality Berlepsch-Ellerode was on 1 January 1974 as part of the municipal reform in Hesse powerful state law in the city Witzenhausen incorporated . The Huebenthal estate was part of the Berlepsch-Ellerode community. Today this district bears the name Berlepsch-Ellerode-Hübenthal.

The nearest train stations are on the Halle – Hann railway line. Münden in Gertenbach (Witzenhausen) and Hedemünden.

From the federal road 80 in the Werra valley, Hübenthal and the castle can be reached via the state road L 3238 / L 565 towards Mollenfelde. The Ellerode buildings are connected by the L 3468 / L 564 state road from Hedemünden to Atzenhausen.

In Hedemünden there is a connection to the A 7 and in Deiderode and Friedland to the A 38 .
