Blickershausen is a north-western district of Witzenhausen in the Werra-Meißner district in North Hesse .

location

Blickershausen is located on the northern roof of the Kaufunger Forest near the northern border of the geo-nature park Frau-Holle-Land (Werra Valley.Meißner.Kaufunger Wald) . The Münden Nature Park extends northwest of the village . It is located just under 500 m south of the border with Lower Saxony in the north and around 9.5 km west of the border triangle Hessen-Lower Saxony-Thuringia . The core town of Witzenhausen is 6.3 km to the southeast and the Hann. Mündener district Hedemünden about 2 km (depending on the beeline ) northwest. The 130 to 160  m above sea level is flowed through NN high-lying village of Rautenbach coming from the direction of Ziegenhagen , which flows into the Werra on the eastern edge of the village .

Transport links

Blickershausen can be reached from the Hedemünden junction of the federal motorway 7 via the federal highway 80 , the Hann. Münden in the west-northwest connects with Heiligenstadt in the east and from which the  3238 road leads to Blickershausen near Gertenbach .

In Gertenbach there is a connection to the Kassel - Göttingen railway line . The cycle path from Hann runs through Blickershausen. Münden to Eschwege , which is part of the Werratal cycle path .

history

Blickershausen belonged to the Hessian office Ludwigstein / Witzenhausen until 1821 and then to the district of Witzenhausen . During the French occupation, the place belonged to the canton of Witzenhausen in the Kingdom of Westphalia (1807-1813).

On 1 January 1974 Blickershausen was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse powerful state law in the city Witzenhausen incorporated .

There are many associations in Blickershausen, for example: Freiwillige Feuerwehr Blickershausen e. V., rural women association e. V., Heimat und Kulturverein e. V., the youth group Blickershausen, shooting club and others.

Regular events

Fair: Blickershausen is the only village in the vicinity of Witzenhausen that has held a fair every year (third weekend in May) - for more than 100 years. A tent disco takes place on Friday evenings from 9 p.m. and the serenade play takes place throughout the village on Saturday . A band will play on Saturday evening from 8 p.m. The fair ends on Sunday morning with the Blickershausen morning pint , where a brass band plays.

Oktoberfest: For several years now, the Blickershausen youth group has been organizing an Oktoberfest with Bavarian food and drinks in September and / or October.

Potato / village festival: Every year a village and potato festival is organized by the rural women’s association in Blickershausen .
