Bessia Motorsport was an Argentinian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The racing driver Osvaldo Bessia founded the company in Buenos Aires in 1992 . He started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Biscayne . Production ended in 2012.

The first model was the roadster . This was the replica of the AC Cobra . The open two-seater body was made of fiberglass . First, a drive V8 engine from Ford with 285  hp to the vehicles performance. In 2006, V8 engines with a capacity of 5000 cc and 300 hp as well as 5700 cc and 430 hp were available.

In 2000 the GT expanded the range. This was the replica of the Ford GT 40 . For 2006, Ford V8 engines with 5000 cc and 365 hp and 5700 cc and 465 hp have been delivered.

One source gives other data. Accordingly, there was the replica of the AC Cobra initially in the Sierra version from 1991 to 1993 with a four-cylinder engine with 1597 cc and 75 hp and a six-cylinder engine with 2299 cc and 90 hp, both from the Ford Sierra . In 1993 the Falcon versions followed with a six-cylinder in- line engine with 3620 cm³ displacement and 122 hp and V8 with a V8 engine with 5000 cm³ displacement and 285 hp. For the replica of the Ford GT 40, the model name GT 40 and the launch year 2003 are given. A V8 engine with a displacement of 5749 cc and 420 hp has been handed down.

Production numbers

Ten vehicles were built annually from 2000 to 2003. The company specifies a number of 91 units for the first model over the entire production period.
