Establecimientos Koller Industrias Santafesinas S A. was an Argentine manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Alberto José Koller and José Héller founded Koller y Héller SRL in 1944 to manufacture furniture . In 1958 they founded Establecimientos Koller Industrias Santafesinas S A. , EKIS for short . The seat was in Carcarañá in the province of Santa Fe . First, they made pendants . The development of an automobile began. The first prototype was exhibited in Rosario between October 18 and 24, 1959, and in Buenos Aires on December 3, 1959 . Series production was announced for 1960. The brand name was Koller . A dealer network with 200 sales outlets was planned.

Financial problems prevented series production. A total of two complete vehicles and a third vehicle that was not completed were built. A company employee bought the first vehicle and Mario Laus the second. Another source indicates that the vehicles were made in small numbers.

vehicles

The only model was a two-door sedan . The base was a chassis made of steel tubes. The body was made of fiberglass and was manufactured under license from Scott Bader & Co. of Wellingborough . One source sees a similarity to the Opel Rekord P1 . The two-tone paintwork, the front double headlights, the two panoramic windows and the whitewall tires were striking . The spare wheel was mounted upright at the rear behind the trunk .

A three - cylinder two-stroke engine with a 70 mm bore , 78 mm piston stroke and 901 cm³ displacement produced 37  hp . It came from the Wartburg 311 of the Eisenach automobile factory and drove the front wheels.

The vehicle had a wheelbase of 209 cm and a track width of 105 cm (front) and 109 cm (rear). It was 380 cm long, 144.5 cm wide and 127 cm high. The curb weight was given as 750 kg or 800 kg.

A sales price of 230,000 pesos was planned.
