Teram SRL was an Argentinian manufacturer of automobiles . Teram stood for Talleres Especializados Reparaciones Autos y Motores .

Company history

Pedro Daverda and Federico De Bucourt founded the company on September 21, 1948 in San Isidro . At first they imported vehicles from Porsche . At the end of 1955, they took over some of the production facilities and unfinished vehicles from IAME that manufactured the Justicialista . In 1956 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Teram . Production ended in 1963. A total of around 100 or 144 vehicles were built.

Open and closed sports cars were on offer . Three different four-cylinder engines were available. The weakest had 80 mm bore , 74 mm stroke , 1488 cc displacement and 56  hp . A larger engine with 82.5 mm bore and 1582 cm³ displacement made up to 102 hp. In contrast to the Justicialista, the engine was mounted in the rear. The body was also redesigned. The front was similar to the Porsche 356 . With a wheelbase of 240 cm and a track width of 125 cm, the vehicles were 415 cm long, 157 cm wide and 135 cm high.

In addition, from 1951 onwards, some off-road vehicles with an engine from Willys were built , which were marketed as Libertador .
