Birgit Kreipe (* 1964 in Hildesheim ) is a German poet .

life and work

Birgit Kreipe grew up in the countryside near Hanover. She completed an apprenticeship as a bookseller and worked in this profession, later she studied psychology and modern German literature in Marburg , Vienna and Göttingen . She has published poems in numerous literary magazines (e.g. Poet , Ostragehege , Randnummer , Lichtungen , besides , Akzente ), in the FAZ and in several anthologies and was a participant in various poetry festivals, among others. a. at the Poetry Festival Berlin . Her poems are characterized by idiosyncratic and memorable images. Peter Geist compares the visual power of her language with that of Sarah Kirsch . Nico Bleutge writes about her volume of poetry SOMA in the NZZ : "The pictures sometimes slide so closely on top of each other that the reader can only watch in amazement as the children in front of their 'magic television'."

Birgit Kreipe lives and works in Berlin.
