action

An eccentric pop star , Harry Hansen, who is depressed after the death of his life and singing partner and sees all vitality waning, hires the unemployed top cook Rosa Echte as a domestic help. Rosa has been through a lot. Not only did her ex-boyfriend rob her of her restaurant, but all of her money. Rosa's daughter Tanja, still in her teenage years, is not only pregnant, but also very headstrong and wants to pursue a career as a poet at all costs.

The new constellation at Hansen suits everyone involved well. Harry's friend and neighbor Nicolaus, a cosmetic surgeon, ensnares Rosa by using his charm. Then one day Vivien, the twin sister of the late singer, who previously lived in New Zealand, appears. Rosa initially treats the opaque woman with caution, but becomes increasingly suspicious and tries to do something about Vivien's growing influence. The warm-hearted woman also has an uneasy feeling about the story Vivien tells about her allegedly ill daughter who urgently needs an expensive operation. She is sure that something is wrong. Since Nicolaus is on their side, they both decide to get to the bottom of the matter.

First, Vivien got Harry to quit Rosa. She sees her plans endangered by the clever woman. Research by Nicolaus and Rosa reveals that the woman posing as Vivien is Barbara Kunze, a former employee of the real Vivien. With the help of Rosa's daughter Tanja, the trio can get back the 250,000 euros already transferred by Hansen for the alleged operation. Angry about the fact that she was set up, Barbara Kunze rushes off.

Harry Hansen, who has regained his courage to live, mainly thanks to Rosa, thanks her by saying that she is one of the few women who he almost regrets that he is gay or that she is not a man. Nicolaus protests immediately that he has a completely different opinion and connects this with a marriage proposal.

criticism

TV Spielfilm pondered: "Well-being film with Eva Pflug ( 'Raumpatrouille' ) as the toilet attendant in her last role" and drew the conclusion: "Okay, we'll stay 90 minutes ..."

On kino.de one could read: “The film did not deserve the universal title: The story is by far not as unimaginative as 'Stay with me' suggests.” Peter Sattmann said that he “obviously enjoyed the simple but beautiful role of the neighbor in love. No less worth seeing are the common scenes of Rosa and her pregnant underage daughter; the young Anna Hausburg [maintain] the level of her incomparably more experienced colleagues without any problems and [recommend] herself again and emphatically for higher tasks ”.

The first was of the opinion that director Dirk Regel had staged a “fast-paced social comedy with original characters, pointed dialogues and an inventive story”.

For the lexicon of international films , the film presented itself as a "humorous (television) family film with a collection of unconventional, no longer very young protagonists".
