Bocholt ( Limburgish : Bógget) is a rural municipality in the province of Limburg , Flanders region in Belgium . It has 13,110 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). The former municipality of Kaulille has also belonged to Bocholt since 1977.
Another village center is Reppel, where St. Willibrord is said to have built a church in the 7th century. The church was under the control of the monastery in Echternach until the end of the 18th century .
Economy and Transport
Bocholt is known in Germany for the Martens brewery , which produces the Karlskrone beer brand for Aldi , among others .
The confluence of the Kempen Canal and the Zuid-Willemsvaart is located in the municipality .
