European Boxing Championships 1969

The 18th men's European boxing championships for amateurs were held from May 30th to June 8th 1969 in the Romanian capital Bucharest . 180 fighters from 25 nations took part.

For the first time medals were awarded in eleven weight classes. The light flyweight (-48 kg) was introduced for these European championships . The Soviet Union and Romania won four titles each, Hungary two and Germany one.
