Brian Tarantina

Brian Tarantina (born March 27, 1959 in New York City , New York ; † November 2, 2019 there ) was an American actor .

Career

Brian Tarantina had Irish and Italian ancestry. His father was Frank William Tarantina, there is no information about his mother. Tarantina studied acting at what is now the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and then performed on Broadway .

He got his first role in the film Cotton Club (1984) directed by Francis Ford Coppola . Further engagements in films such as Carlito's Way or Donnie Brasco followed. He also plays smaller roles in series such as Miami Vice , Emergency Room , Law & Order and Gilmore Girls . He has appeared in more than 80 film and television productions. Most of the time Tarantina played gloomy and socially weak characters. He was most recently seen in The Kitchen - Queens of Crime in 2019 .

Tarantina was found dead in his apartment in Hell's Kitchen , Manhattan in early November 2019 . Initially, a heart attack was suspected to be the cause of death. On December 17, 2019, the news portal TMZ.com reported that, according to the autopsy report , Tarantina died of acute poisoning of various drugs ( fentanyl , heroin , cocaine and diazepam - also known as Valium). New York forensic medicine assumes an accidental overdose. Brian Tarantina leaves behind a son.

Tarantina's hobbies included billiards and blackjack , and he was a fan of the New York Yankees baseball team .
