Buchegg is the name of a political municipality that was created on January 1, 2014 through a large municipal merger on the Bucheggberg . The new municipality belongs to the Bucheggberg district of the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland .

The merger includes the former municipalities of Aetigkofen , Aetingen , Bibern (SO) , Brügglen , Gossliwil , Hessigkofen , Küttigkofen , Kyburg-Buchegg , Mühledorf (SO) and Tscheppach . The new municipality received the BFS no. 2465.

The municipality of Buchegg is located on the Bucheggberg in Solothurn and borders the canton of Bern in the north-west as well as in the east and south-east . The Limpach forms the southern boundary of the municipality.

The neighboring communities of Buchegg are in the north Leuzigen ( BE ), in the north-north-east Lüterkofen-Ichertswil , in the east Bätterkinden ( BE ), in the south-east Fraubrunnen ( BE ), in the south Unterramsern , in the south-south-west Messen , in the south-west Lüterswil-Gächliwil , in the west Rüti bei Büren ( BE ) and in the northwest Arch ( BE ).
