Lüterswil-Gächliwil is a municipality in the Bucheggberg district in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland . The municipality was created in 1994 from a merger of Lüterswil with Gächliwil , it consists of two clearly separated villages, of which Lüterswil is the significantly larger.

geography
The community is located in the Solothurn part of the Central Plateau in the hilly area of the Bucheggberg. The Biberenbach , which flows to the Emme, and the Rütibach, which reaches the Aare north of Rüti near Büren, arise in the municipality .
The neighboring communities are Biezwil , Oberwil bei Büren , Buchegg and Messen .

The Öliverein Lüterswil continues to operate and maintain the Grabenöli , an oil mill on the Rütibach, which is a protected monument .
history
Gächliwil was first mentioned in a document in 1365 as Gechlenwil . The name means where at Gachilo's homestead . In the 19th century peat was cut in Gächliwil.
Culture
The harvest festival in Lüterswil, the Brächete , is a cultural highlight in community life .
In Gächliwil there is an old school building with a small tower. It is said to have been built around 1800.
In Lüterswil on the north-western border of the municipality there is the Grabenöli , an oil mill with a water wheel , the roots of which go back around 400 years. The mill was in commercial operation until the beginning of the 20th century, in 1988 it was restored.
